Arklow Town is also a fast developing town, It was bypassed before Gorey on the N11 route southbound and so became a commutter town for Dublin. Arklow has recently got a new shopping centre on the quays. Developed in a derelict part of the town, the new BridgeWater Centre has a Cinema, New Look, TK Maxx, Next, Pamela Scott, River Island, Argos Extra, Oasis, Warehouse, Zavvi, Eddie Rockets and has Dunne Stores as this anchor tennant.

Courtown is one of the most famous holidays destinations on the East Coast of Ireland. It started off life as a famine relief project by Lord Courtown of the Stopford family back in the 1800. Since then it has gained in populatity and it now has over 1000 Self catering Holidays homes and as many mobile homes.
